Looks like the iSlate is finally due to be launched. Apple has booked the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in San Francisco and is expected to make a 'major product announcement' on Tuesday, January 26 according to reports.
It is understood that iPhone app makers have been advised to update their code to fit a larger screen but no one seems to know if we'll see a 7inch or 10inch model on the 26th.
It's also rumoured that Steve jobs will return to the stage for the big unveiling of a product he is said to have micro-managed for at least the last year.
The new mac device is apparently also designed as an e-book reader to compete with amazon's Kindle. A number of well known magazine are reported to be preparing to make their publications available, possibly through the iTunes store, for the new device.
Apple is known to have picked up the iSlate.com domain in 2007 but kept it's ownership secret. MacRumors has discovered that Apple's name was exposed for a few weeks until the identity was suppressed again.
